Players of Idaho Lottery games must be 18 years or older to buy or redeem tickets, which can be purchased at approximately 1,000 retailers throughout the state.

Out of every dollar from ticket sales, approximately 25% is kept for the annual dividend. From this, 50% of the annual dividend is given to public schools, while the remaining 50% helps to finance Idaho's colleges and universities. In the 2009 fiscal year the annual dividend was $35 million.

Winners have 180 days after the date of the draw in which to make their prize claim. Unclaimed cash prizes are kept by the Idaho Lottery, and are used to fund prizes.

It is advisable as soon as possible after purchasing your ticket to write your address and sign the back of the ticket, as if tickets are unsigned anyone in possession of a winning ticket may file a claim.

Prizes of $600 and less can be redeemed at any Idaho Lottery retailer, or by mailing the ticket, signed and addressed on the back, to the Idaho Lottery head office. Prizes $600 and more need to be accompanied by a claim form, and taken to Idaho Lottery's Boise head office. Be sure if mailing your ticket to photocopy it, and any claim form, both front and back, for your records.
