I want to Win Lotto and Retire!
Ever heard yourself or someone you know say this famous line ‘I want to win the lottery and retire!”?
This is exactly what Gail Fox said just hours before her epic $24 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot win on Saturday night.
She was joking with a friend at work who had said that he was going to win the Lottery, “I told him he wasn’t because I was going to win” said Gail, and that she did!
Gail and her husband Tom, a married couple from Indianapolis have won the multi-million jackpot in the June 22 Hoosier Lotto draw when their six numbers matched those from the draw. The lucky numbers were 7, 24, 29, 30, 42 and 44.
The couple plan on quitting work and retiring to enjoy the $24 million as a 30 year annuity, receiving $800,000 each year for the next 30 years. This is before the 25% federal and 3.4% state taxes are taken out of the annual sum.
“Every time you buy a ticket you think ‘maybe I’ll hit it,’” Gail said. She goes on to say that they wouldn’t play the game if they didn’t think they had a chance of winning.
The winning ticket was purchased at Kroger at 7101 E. 10th Street in Indianapolis. The store will receive a whopping $100,000 bonus as a result of the jackpot winning quick pick ticket being purchased from there.
This is the second win this year for tickets purchased at Kroger stores in Indianapolis. In January a $9.5 million ticket was purchased at the Kroger at 2550 Lake Circle Drive.
The couple plan to travel, relax and enjoy themselves and Tom has allowed himself one initial indulgence of a Chevrolet Corvette.
